Czech Radio is the public service broadcaster of the Czech Republic, building on more than a century of radio broadcasting tradition dating back to 1923.

The radio licence fee is a statutory charge used to finance the public broadcasting service of Czech Radio.

The history of Czech Radio began with the launch of regular radio broadcasting in Czechoslovakia on 18 May 1923.
