Supervisory Board
The Supervisory Board of Czech Radio is an advisory body to the Council responsible for financial oversight.
Role and composition
The Supervisory Board comprises five members elected and dismissed by the Council. Members are appointed for fixed terms and must meet professional and independence requirements similar to those of Council members. Membership is a public function.
The Board elects its chair and vice-chair and operates under its own rules of procedure. Meetings are held regularly and are not public.
Oversight functions
The Supervisory Board monitors whether Czech Radio’s financial resources and assets are used efficiently, economically and in accordance with the approved budget and applicable legal requirements. It has the right to access accounting records and relevant documentation and may request information from Czech Radio staff.
The Board reports its findings to the Council on a quarterly basis and submits an annual analysis of Czech Radio’s financial management as a basis for the Council’s reporting obligations. Its members are bound by strict confidentiality, which continues to apply even after their term ends.
