Czech Radio Receives Special Award at International Radio Grand Prix

Czech Radio has participated in the 21st International Radio Grand Prix organised by URTI (International University for Radio and Television) within its celebration of the 60th anniversary. The jury of URTI was selecting 48 programmes submitted by 29 countries during 27 - 30th September 2009 in Tunisia. Czech Radio has obtained Special Award for its programme "Gods Remain on Earth". The award ceremony will take place on the 21st October in Paris.

The topic for this year's round was "What about tomorrow?". Czech Radio submitted a programme "Gods Remain on Earth" produced by Marta Růžičková and Pavel Krejčí from one of the Czech Radio regional stations, Czech Radio Hradec Králové. The programme is a radio composition of unique recordings of the whale voices, sounds "from the heart", indigenous music of native Americans, and sounds of "tribes" that offers the possibilities for the communication in the contemporary highly technical world.
