Czech Radio knows the name of Deputy Director General for Programme and Broadcasting

After discussion with the Czech Radio Council, Czech Radio´s Director General Peter Duhan named the last of his three Deputies. On the 1st March 2012 Mr. Jan Menger was appointed the Deputy Director General for Programme and Broadcasting.

According to the Statute of Czech Radio, which has been revised on the 1st November 2011, the fundamental organisational structure of Czech Radio is divided into Programme and Broadcasting Division, Administrative and Operations Division and Strategic Development Division. According to the Act on Czech Radio and the Statute of Czech Radio, the nomination of the Deputies must be discussed with the Czech Radio Council, this is a necessary condition of their appointment.

As early as on the 1st November, Peter Duhan named Mr. René Zavoral the Deputy Director General for Strategic Development and Mr. Oldřich Šesták the Deputy Director General for Administrative and Operations Division. At that time the position of Deputy Director General for Programme and Broadcasting remained unoccupied and Director General Mr. Peter Duhan was in charge of the division until finding the suitable candidate.

The new Deputy Director General for Programme and Broadcasting Bc. Jan Menger has been working in the radio branch since 1995. He started as a presenter and newscaster at the private radio station Evropa 2, he also worked for Radio Alfa and Radio Blaník. Between 2002 and 2005 he was the Editor-in-Chief of Czech Radio´s regional station Regina based in Prague. From 2006 he accepted the position of the Director of Czech Radio Region - Central Bohemian Region. Mr. Menger studied marketing communications at the Faculty of Multimedia Communications, Tomas Bata University in Zlín.
