Musical ensembles have been part of Czech Radio since its inception, whether it be the Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra or children's ensembles – Disman Radio Children’s Ensemble and Czech Radio Children's Choir.
Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra
With a 100-year history, the Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra constitutes an essential part of the Czech musical landscape, with a repertoire that accents contemporary works, highlights neglected composers and performs well-loved pieces at the heart of the classical canon.
Disman Radio Children’s Ensemble
The ensemble performs publicly at home and abroad and collaborates with theatres, artistic agencies, art schools and dubbing and television studios, giving children the opportunity to try out a wide range of activities.
Czech Radio Children's Choir
Established in 1945, the Czech Radio Children’s Choir is renowned for its exceptional artistic standards, with members regularly showcasing the rich Czech choral tradition both at home and abroad. The choir performs at numerous Czech Radio events, including studio recordings, live broadcasts and public concerts.
The Czech Radio Children's Choir has recorded songs for, among other projects, the Oscar-winning documentary Mr. Nobody Against Putin. It also did the Czech versions of songs from the movie Wicked: For Good.
