David Lukáš

composer (born 1981)

David Lukáš studied conducting at The Prague Conservatoire in the class of Hynek Farkač, Miriam Němcová and Miroslav Košler.

Simultaneously with conducting he privately studied composition (O. Kvěch, R. Rejšek) and lately he has consulted his composing technique with Sylvie Bodorová.

He has composed symphonies, solo concertos with concerto accompaniment, Stabat Mater, many chamber compositions and vocal compositions. The 1st symphony “Des cauchemar et des reves“ was awarded the third place at the prestigious international Gustav Mahler competition of composers in Vienna and it was performed by Vienna radio orchestra ORF.

In 2014 with his composition Birth of light, David Lukáš was awarded the prize of chief conductor of Czech Philharmonic at a competition for composers announced by Czech Philharmonic.
