Visual publication Rozhlasto maps 100-year radio history with unique photographs and documents
The book Rozhlasto traces 100 years of broadcasting with unique photographs, posters and documents from the large Czech Radio Archive.
The book covers spartan beginnings of broadcasting in the 1920s, the golden era in the 1930s and 1960s, as well as bloody battles for the Radio in 1945 and 1968.
It portrays the specific work of radio operators behind the microphone and with the recording equipment, and looks into fates of famous radio figures, actors and directors. Moreover, it doesn’t forget to cover the recent 30 years of the national public service broadcasting.
The book also includes QR codes which, when scanned by a mobile phone, allow instant playback of historic sounds associated with a given photograph. Included, there are also thematic folders, each presenting a secret for readers to reveal.
