Radiožurnál, the most listened to Czech Radio station, further strengthens its market position
The latest results of the national radio listenership survey Radioprojekt for Q2 and Q3 2024 confirm the continued growth of interest in Czech Radio's news coverage. Czech Radio’s overall reach remains stable with more than a quarter of the market share (25.9%).
Radiožurnál has long been the most listened to radio station in the Czech Republic with 825 000 daily listeners (+ 23 000) and in an average week with 1 562 000 listeners (+ 25 000). Czech Radio Plus, the spoken word journalistic station Czech Radio Plus also has a stable listenership with 139 000 daily and 254 000 weekly listeners.
"I am glad that our news stations enjoy a consistently high level of interest among listeners, despite the unethical anti-campaign recently waged against public service radio by competing private radio stations. This confirms the high standard of our news coverage, its broad scope, credibility and efforts to ensure balance and objectivity," said René Zavoral, Director General of Czech Radio.
Czech Radio Dvojka and Czech Radio Vltava have maintained a stable number of listeners without significant changes. Czech Radio Dvojka has 308/552 000 listeners per day/week and Czech Radio Vltava has 59/178 000 listeners per day/week.
The listening rate of the regional stations is now 353 000 per day and 704 000 per week.
