Tomáš Pálka

composer (born 1978)

Having finished his studies first at the Brno Conservatory and then at the Faculty of Music of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague, he became a freelancing composer. He works as a teacher at The English College in Prague.

A co-founder, and currently also the chairman of the Konvergence composers’ association, Pálka has lately been implementing non-musical elements in his compositions with increasing frequency: stage and light effects; use of words and movement; cooperation with visual and conceptual artists. His music tends to be subtle, introvert, and contemplative by nature.
