Czech Radio Announces ´Drawing Online 2009 - Public Award´
Czech Radio has received over 3,000 works submitted for the 14th annual international art competition for children "Drawing Online". This year's theme has been the ´Journeys of discoveries and adventure´. Almost 200 artworks have qualified for the finals. The works for competition have been submitted by children from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Indonesia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Russia, China, Switzerland, and Kenya.
For the first time in the history of the competition, Czech Radio would like to involve also public in the evaluation of the artworks. Therefore, the Public Award has been announced. Everybody can try to act as a juror and choose their favourite from the 20 most successful artworks via the official voting website. "Everyone can judge. The artwork that gets the highest number of votes will be awarded a special prize. You can vote until 7th June 2009," said the chief guarantor of the competition Lenka Kupková from Czech Radio Online.
The winner of the Public Award will receive the prize from Lucie Seifertová, academic painter who is also the chief illustrator of the Czech Radio websites for children, during the ceremonial opening on the 17th June 2009.
