Teddy Ziggy: A Rising Star
African artists based in the diaspora play a significant role in globalizing musical culture from their homelands. The Friday Ripple kept a close eye on Teddy Ziggy, a Nigerian singer based in Prague, Czech Republic.
This show was especially dedicated to the young and humble star who has finally announced details for his much anticipated debut album. Teddy Ziggy has organized an album Listening Party coinciding with his birthday party. He featured at the live studio to give us exclusive insight in his forthcoming album.
We opened the show with Congolese singer and dancer Tshala Muana, who opened the show with her congotronic mellow classic, Malu.
Senorita was among the first songs Teddy Ziggy released which many would have not taken seriously. Suffix to say that the Friday Ripple has always been a platform for young promising talent. But moving to 2012, Teddy Ziggy has nurtured his skill stealing the hearts of many with Kiss U featuring an all star line up of Flykid YG Rasco and Ucee.
At Teddy Ziggy’s birthday/album listening party, it will be an opportunity to watch live performances by the array of Nigerian artists flying in. SpiceVision and YG were also able join us for a live interview, and they explained their close relationship with Teddy Ziggy. Sori Sori is the collaboration between the two artists.
